Amidst a sharp increase in the demand for built environments for people with dementia in Alberta, questions about how these built environments impact the care of people with dementia in the maintenance of dignity and quality of life, are of great significance. This documentary film-loop embodies an innovative design environment from the Netherlands, towards understanding how material culture can make a difference by supporting the wellbeing and enhancing the quality of life of residents with dementia. It is the beginning to reimagining innovative ways to respond to dementia care by design in the Alberta context.
